CJ Beatty has spent his life around the game—but his mission has grown into something much bigger than wins, statistics, or what happens between the lines.
A former professional baseball player, scout, and coach, CJ now uses his experience to motivate and develop young athletes. His goal is to help them believe bigger, prepare with purpose, handle adversity, and understand that the person they become through sports matters just as much as the player they become.
FROM PLAYER TO MENTOR
CJ grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with big dreams of playing at the highest level.
His journey took him to North Carolina A&T State University on a full athletic scholarship before he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2009 MLB Draft. After his professional playing career, CJ moved into professional scouting and coaching with the Cardinals. Â
But the experiences that shaped CJ weren’t only the successes.
The failures, pressure, competition, adjustments, and lessons along the way helped shape the message he now shares with young athletes:
Talent can open doors. Mindset, preparation, confidence, and character help you keep growing once you walk through them.
Today, CJ brings those lessons to athletes and coaches through speaking, camps, clinics, mentorship, content, and the CJ Beatty Softball Academy. His work has reached athletes both in the United States and internationally.

CJ is known as the King of Softball Music, creating high-energy songs and motivational content that have become part of the softball culture for players, teams, and families.
For many athletes, the music is their first introduction to CJ. But behind the energy, entertainment, and personality is a bigger mission: helping young players build confidence, mental toughness, leadership, and belief in themselves.
CJ co-founded The Softball Motivator with his wife, former professional softball player Brianna Beatty, in 2018. Through camps, clinics, music, and motivational experiences, they’ve used softball as a vehicle to inspire and develop the next generation.
The CJ Beatty Softball Academy takes that mission online, giving young athletes ongoing opportunities to develop the parts of the game that can sometimes get overlooked:

Learning to trust herself, prepare with purpose, and keep believing when things don’t go perfectly.

Developing practical ways to handle pressure, mistakes, nerves, failure, and adversity.

The Academy was created to give young softball players more than another drill to complete.
It’s a place for athletes to learn, challenge themselves, ask questions, set meaningful goals, strengthen their mindset, and continue becoming more confident versions of themselves.
Because softball will bring great moments.
It will also bring strikeouts, errors, pressure, competition, difficult practices, and setbacks.
CJ wants athletes to have tools for both.
Not just tools for playing better—but tools for responding better, leading better, preparing better, and continuing to move forward when things get hard.
